K.J. Cabodi is an experienced litigator specializing in significant personal injury, wrongful death, and complex product liability cases. He has defended clients in high-profile lawsuits, including those involving fires, catastrophic injuries, trucking accidents, and construction defects. Mr. Cabodi also handles real estate, employment, and business formation matters.
In one case, Mr. Cabodi successfully defended clients sued for wrongful death alleged to have been caused by the smoking of clove cigarettes. In a lawsuit involving fires resulting in multiple fatalities, he successfully obtained a complete dismissal of his client, a manufacturer of electrical wiring.
Representation of developers and general contractors in construction defect litigation is another of Mr. Cabodi’s specialties. He has also successfully represented clients in litigation involving corrosive water and sulfate attack of concrete.
Mr. Cabodi serves as an Arbitrator and Judge Pro Tempore in the California courts and acts as a private mediator. He is a member of the Southern California Defense Association, the Orange County Bar Association, the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association, The Federation of Insurance Corporate Counsel and is admitted to practice before California State Courts, the U.S. Supreme Court and all federal courts. He is also a member of the National Eagle Scout Association. A 1978 graduate of Pepperdine University School of Law, he began working at Small, Henstridge in 1981; becoming a full partner with that firm in 1985. He remained with that firm until 2023 when he joined Collinsworth Specht Calkins & Giampaoli, adding to its list of experienced litigators.
